The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science is deeply saddened to share the passing of former chair, Nicholas Cercone. Professor Cercone passed peacefully with his wife by his side, members of the school were told in a letter from York University's dean of the Lassonde school of Engineering JanuszKozinski.
The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science is mourning the loss of Gabriel Barsky, age 20, who died as the result of a motorcycle accident while in San Francisco on a work term. Gaby was a bright and vibrant third-year student who was extremely interested in the startup culture and loved working on his own side projects. Gaby will be deeply missed by his many friends in Computer Science and across campus.
