Researchers at the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science have developed a blueprint for designing effective information systems that will help parents receive efficient updates about their school-aged children.
The system comes out of a study that examined the use of technologies such as GPS, fitness trackers and surveillance applications and the best ways these can be used to inform parents while respecting privacy.
The Cheriton School of Computer Science is pleased to announce the winners of the inaugural David R. Cheriton Distinguished Dissertation Award. Established in 2019, this award was created to recognize excellence in computer science doctoral research and writing.
Cheriton School of Computer Science Professor Samer Al-Kiswany has been elevated to the grade of Senior Member by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, an honour bestowed to IEEE members who have made significant contributions to their profession.
