David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science names Jo Atlee as First Director of Women in Computer Science

David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science professor Joanne Atlee has been appointed as the first director of Women in Computer Science. A long time advocate of supporting women in computer science, Atlee explains that she is happy to take on the role and continue pushing for women to feel comfortable and confident in the field.

Professor Lila Kari awarded Rozenberg Tulip Award for the DNA Computer Scientist of the Year

David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science professor Lila Kari was awarded the Rozenberg Tulip Award for the DNA Computer Scientist of the Year at the 21st International conference on DNA Computing and Molecular Programming.

2015 International Olympiad in Informatics results

Canadian IOI team: J.P. Pretti, Ben Zhang, Farbod Yadegarian, Jacob Jackson, Timothy Li, Troy Vasiga

Team Canada returned home from the 27th International Olympiad in Informatics in Almaty, Kazakhstan with four medals.

Each contestant finished in the top half of all international competitors.

Waterloo Aerial Robotics Group participates in unmanned systems competition

David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science undergraduate students Benjamin Winger and Andrew Crichton recently took part in the Unmanned Systems Canada Student Unmanned Air System Competition (USC Student UAS Competition) in Alma, Quebec.
