Tuesday, April 4, 2017
INRIA, the French National Institute for Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, has created a new international chair and appointed Professor Raouf Boutaba to hold the position for five years, between 2017 and 2021. During his tenure, Boutaba will visit and collaborate with researchers at the INRIA Nancy – Grand Est research centre in Villers-lès-Nancy and at other INRIA sites in France.

“I’m delighted that Raouf has been awarded a prestigious INRIA International Chair,” said Mark Giesbrecht, Director of the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science.

“This international recognition speaks volumes about Raouf’s research on software-defined networks and integrated network management. It is a most-deserved recognition, and brings world-leading international connections to Raouf’s research group and to the Cheriton School as a whole.”
