Doug Stinson named University Professor

Head shot of Doug StinsonDoug Stinson, a professor with the School of Computer Science, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and internationally renowned scholar in the fields of cryptography, security, and combinatorics, has been named University Professor. This fantastic honour is the third to be bestowed on a faculty member from the School of Computer Science. Stinson joins Professors Ming Li and Ian Munro in receiving this achievement. 

Stinson's main research interests are in cryptography, including techniques for authentication of digital information; generation of random numbers for cryptographic applications; distribution of secure cryptographic keys; fingerprinting and tracing algorithms to prevent copyright violation; and public-key encryption and signature algorithms.
