G.I. Jam presented by Waterloo's Games Institute

Saturday, June 14, 2014 (all day)

The G.I. Jam is a multi-weekend event hosted by The Playful Pixel and the University of Waterloo’s Games Institute. The theme for the G.I. Jam is "Learn, Make, Play"; where each of our events are designed to appeal to a wide variety of playful people:

For the Summer 2014 G.I. Jam, we've combined our LEARN and MAKE events into a single weekend of tutorials, talks, and game making madness!

Events
June 14-15
  • Participants are invited to team up with fellow Jammers and build their own board and video games with the help of G.I. Mentors.
  • Talks and tutorials including "Programming 101", "Board Game Design", "Introduction to 2D Games with Unity", and "Multiplayer Networking".
June 21 Come out and PLAY board games! We'll have a whole collection of board games on offer as well as featured video games; with an emphasis on locally made Canadian games and those made at the G.I. Jam itself!

The G.I. Jam is open to the public, not just UW students. Everyone is welcome, including programmers, artists, and musicians!
