Taught by Professor Daniel Vogel, CS 889: Human-Computer Interaction for Art and Creativity investigates the intersection of computing, artistic expression, and creative practice. Throughout the term, students have explored how computational systems can support, enhance and generate art through weekly student-led seminars and hands-on programming exercises.
The course culminates in a public exhibition of final projects — an inspiring collection of computational artworks and creativity tools.
You’re invited to drop by and explore the exhibit, which runs from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Finding the exhibit: East Campus Hall (ECH) is a low-rise building that houses Waterloo’s Fine Arts Department. The Flex Studio in ECH 1237 is a large, open-concept space at the west end of the building.
If you’re coming from the Davis Centre, ECH is just behind Engineering 7 and beside Engineering 6. The easiest way to find ECH 1237 is to enter through the University of Waterloo Art Gallery entrance, walk down a short hallway, take a quick left, then right around some lockers — you’ll see the door to the Flex Studio.
