PhD graduate Martin Derka, supervisor Therese Biedl and colleagues win best paper award at ISAAC 2017

Recent PhD graduate Martin Derka, his supervisor Professor Therese Biedl and colleagues Markus Chimani and Petra Mutzel received the best paper award for “Crossing number for graphs with bounded pathwidth,” which will be presented at ISAAC 2017 — the 28th International Symposium on Algorithms and Computation.

ISAAC 2017 will be held in Phuket, Thailand from December 9 to 12, 2017. This leading annual international symposium brings together researchers and covers a wide range of topics in algorithms and computation.

“Congratulations to Martin, Therese and their colleagues on receiving this prestigious best paper award,” said Mark Giesbrecht, Director of the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science.
