Research Professor Maura Grossman has been named as a Leading Individual in Canada for her contributions to eDiscovery by Who’s Who Legal 2018.

Who’s Who Legal explored eDiscovery practitioners and identified 64 individuals across North America. Grossman was named as one of five leading individuals in Canada, noting that she “is well known as a ‘highly competent adviser’ who ‘defined the terms for the field of technology-assisted review.’” The entry continues that “clients praise her ‘amazing ability to instantly digest our needs.’”

“It’s wonderful to see Maura’s pioneering contributions to eDiscovery recognized time and again by her legal peers, legal organizations, and their publications,” said Dan Brown, Director of the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science.

“Her technology-assisted review work has been essential in several recent high-stakes legal cases,” Brown said.

Who’s Who Legal is published by Law Business Research Limited, an independent London-based publishing group that provides research, analysis and reports on the international legal services marketplace.

In addition to being a research professor in the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science, Grossman is principal of Maura Grossman Law, an eDiscovery law and consulting firm based in Buffalo, New York. Before joining the University of Waterloo, she was of counsel at the prominent Manhattan law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.
