CS alumnus named CACS/AIC Outstanding Young Computer Science Researcher for 2014

Ahmed E. Hassan, an alumnus of the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science, has been named CACS/AIC Outstanding Young Computer Science Researcher for 2014.

Hassan completed his BMath, MMath, and PhD (Ric Holt) degrees at Waterloo. Hassan joins professors Ondrej Lhotak (2012), Ian Goldberg (2010), and Bin Ma (2009) in a growing list of school members who have won this researcher prize.

Currently, Hassan is the Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Software Analytics, and the NSERC/BlackBerry Industrial Research Chair in Software Engineering for Ultra Large Scale systems at the School of Computing in Queen's University.  At Queen's, he leads the Software Analysis and Intelligence Lab (SAIL).
