Computer Science to host Bridges 2017 Conference

Friday, August 16, 2013
The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science is pleased to announce that they will be hosting the Bridges conference in 2017. Bridges: Mathematical Connections, in Art, Music, and Science, began in 1998, in Kansas and since then, has traveled across Europe and North America attracting participants from over thirty countries.

During the conference, practicing mathematicians, scientists, artists, educators, musicians, writers, computer scientists, sculptors, dancers, weavers, and model builders come together in a lively and highly charged atmosphere of mutual exchange and encouragement.

The 2017 conference coincides with the Faculty of Mathematics 50th anniversary and will likely feature invited speakers, full and short paper presentations, educational workshops, an art exhibition, and a short movie festival. For more information on Bridges and past conferences, please visit The Bridges Organization website. For more information regarding the 2017 Waterloo-hosted conference, please contact Professor Craig Kaplan.
