Large pretained model gain success in many CV and NLP benchmarks. However, there are still a lot of challenges in applying them to real-life applications. In this seminar, I will share the experience of my internship with Instacart search team, during which I constructed transformer-based representation model for grocery shopping searching. I will first introduce the challenges we encountered when migrating models to real application. I will discuss the system framework of the search service. Then I will share methods we applied to tackle the challenges, in order to deliver a successful search service.
