In this seminar, we acknowledge “Data” as the new oil and delve into the significance of the need for robust infrastructures to effectively retrieve, process, and leverage this valuable resource. Our focus lies in the collaborative efforts of logicians, computer scientists and mathematicians who have been instrumental in developing innovative data centric theories and systems to cater to diverse business needs.

During this talk, we provide a concise overview of the evolutionary journey of database systems and classical AI, highlighting the remarkable contributions made by this vibrant community of scientists. Specifically, we emphasize our own recent addition, the General Relational Model (GRM/SQLP), and its alignment with the ever-evolving landscape of data models and query languages driven by user requirements. Furthermore, we present a glimpse into the key aspects of our data model, query languages, references, associated semantics, and their interconnectedness with other models. Ultimately, we explore the exciting possibilities that emerge with the introduction of GRM, offering potential avenues for further advancements in this field.
