Welcome to my blog...It's more of an occasional-random-quirky-thought blog or a check-out-this-cool-link blog than one of those this-is-what-i-had-for-breakfast-today-and-these-are-my-feelings-about-life blogs and it's definitely not one of those awful i'm-useful-and-have-important-things-to-say-and-i'm-contributing-to-society blogs. Enjoy.

My Redesigned DVD Website
Rotten Tomatoes I know this is another one of those things where very few people will care, but I totally redesigned my DVD Website. It's a lot more polished and uses some fancier html and javascript, but it may be a bit slower to load now. I've added several new features, but one cool one is that I wrote a script to automatically download the Rotten Tomato score. I am far too thrilled with myself for doing that, but hey -- that's why I'm a geek.

My OLPC Arrived!
One Laptop Per Child Around Christmas I made a donation to the One Laptop Per Child under the give one, get one program... where I donate $400 for 2 laptops: I receive one and a child in one of {Mongolia, Haiti, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Afghanistan} receives one as well. Anyway... it's early April and I finally received my little green laptop... and I love it. The keyboard is really small, but I can hook up a regular sized keyboard to it... I don't have too much time to hack around with it, but I managed to install another xwindows manager on it (xfce) and I got it to autosync with my school computer to automatically download papers I need to read... because it's an excellent little eBook reader. It really is a great conversation starter and anywhere I go with it people ask me questions. The number one question is if I have the hand crank for the battery, but the donors didn't get one. The second most popular question I get is how they can get one for themselves, but unfortunately they closed the give one get one program -- hopefully they will re-open it soon.
