Welcome to my blog...It's more of an occasional-random-quirky-thought blog or a check-out-this-cool-link blog
than one of those this-is-what-i-had-for-breakfast-today-and-these-are-my-feelings-about-life blogs and
it's definitely not one of those awful i'm-useful-and-have-important-things-to-say-and-i'm-contributing-to-society blogs. Enjoy.

My cable died on me today -- nothing but static... and then I see that it's TV Turnoff Week. [Insert your own conspiracy theory here]

I've confirmed the approximate location where I'll be playing music for the Vancouver Marathon: [google map]. I'll be at (or close to) the 'FRUIT' location on the official maps: mile 11 of the full marathon, and mile 4.25 of the half marathon.

After the previous post on my teaching evaluations, a couple of people have pointed out my friend Lowell has posted on his web page a hilarious evaluation he received & scanned in.
I know reading the comments on my Teaching evaluations is entertaining for a lot of people... it's been a while, but I finally have some new comments from when I TAed CPSC 320 last semester. There are some really entertaining ones -- good and bad -- including one that calls me "arrogant".

A few weeks ago, my friend Erik and his dog Moose appeared in one of the most idiodic news stories I've seen in a while -- it involves a terrorist conspiracy to poison dogs and, well... I'll let you see it for yourself. Here is the clip from CityTV's CityPulse News.

With my new media server, recording from TV is a snap, and with some simple tools, I can create reasonably good & small video files. For example: People ask where the name "crapweasel" came from... well, here is the video clip from the Friends episode The One with the Blackout that inspired it all.

Ok... go sign the pledge at Fox's Save Arrested Development website. It's strange that it comes from Fox. Marketing ploy? A gauge of fan support? Who knows. They should know... "There's money in the banana stand."

Much like my hard drive and Anikan Skywalker... I turned to the dark side. Last night I finished reading the novelization of Star Wars: Episode III. I won't spoil anything for you, but I will emphasize that I had mixed feelings about both the novelization and the main story.
P.S. Chewbacca Dies.

OK...
So the hard drive in my notebook computer died just a few hours before the Pope died. Coincidence? A sign from above? You be the judge. Regardless, I've been like a headless chicken running around. I'm 99% sure I lost all the data. Waaaaaaaah! The only silver lining was that the unit is under warranty until July, but it could be a week before I get a replacement hard drive. So don't expect prompt replies to e-mails for the next week or so. MORE POSTS IN THE ARCHIVES... |
