Welcome to my blog...It's more of an occasional-random-quirky-thought blog or a check-out-this-cool-link blog
than one of those this-is-what-i-had-for-breakfast-today-and-these-are-my-feelings-about-life blogs and
it's definitely not one of those awful i'm-useful-and-have-important-things-to-say-and-i'm-contributing-to-society blogs. Enjoy.

I try to avoid posting articles that already appear on mainstream websites, but this discussion on Industrial Labs that Still Do Fundamental Research will be of interest to many of my academic-geeky friends.

Today my Music collection hit a big milestone: 20,000 songs. It will be a long time before it hits another milestone like that. Sure, there are some duplicates (at present I have 11 copies of Y.M.C.A.) and there are some really bad songs (46 of Blender's 50 worst songs ever) but there is a lot of great stuff too (all 500 of Rolling Stone's greatest songs of all time) and a lot of music that I sincerely love. For the record, the 20,000th song was a modern remix of Sheila E's The Glamorous Life -- THE GLAMOROUS LIFE [T-FUNK MIX] by MR. TIMOTHY & INAYA DAY (listen). And I kid you not... I couldn't make this up if I tried... they remixed the entire song but I think the only percussion they kept from the original song is... the cowbell.

I've been busy with some school stuff - and I just wasted a couple of days because of a bug in my code. I don't want to get all geeky on you but can I just say that right now that I Hate Floating Point Numbers! (click here if you don't know what they are). Apparently I'm not alone. I'm sure in a few weeks we'll tolerate each other again, but right now we're not talking.

After mentioning this impossible to explain or comprehend Architecture of Fight Club to a few people, I finally have added the link here.
