Welcome to my blog...It's more of an occasional-random-quirky-thought blog or a check-out-this-cool-link blog
than one of those this-is-what-i-had-for-breakfast-today-and-these-are-my-feelings-about-life blogs and
it's definitely not one of those awful i'm-useful-and-have-important-things-to-say-and-i'm-contributing-to-society blogs. Enjoy.

If I were to do a flash comic on a regular basis, it might look something like College University, only better

I'm a little pococurante about this story, but it reminds me -- on my last trip to vegas I was in a poker room, and on one TV was the US national spelling bee, and on the adjacent TV was the US National high school cheerleading championships... and I couldn't help but think that it would be the closest us nerds would ever get to those cheerleaders. -sigh-
I've struggled myself to get a good definition of passive-aggressive behaviour (being accused of showing it on more than one occasion) The Straight Dope has a pretty good explanation of it this week. Usually I find T.S.D. a little too "editorial" and not very good reading, but this week T.S.D. (classic) has a double-header with a good one on the myths of real life vs. movie suicides.

My good friend Ben Thornton was published at the big jewel. Ironically, he used to work for a jeweler.
So I came across this cool spice site. Hmm... on further thought, even when I was in Japan, I've probably never had real wasabi.

Cool. Cartoon Charlie's Angels.
So it seems that my old nemisis at UWO, Paul Davenport received the Order of Canada. I mean, he's certainly no Rick Hansen, but that's not a fair comparison, since Rick received the Companion of Canada, not the Order. I now know there are 3 categories... Member < Order < Companion... but still, How can Paul's honour be greater than Dan Aykroyd's? So now that we know what the titles C.M., C.O., and C.C. stand for, can someone figure out what all the letters behind the Queen Mother stand for?
So I'm back from the Vegas road trip. I don't think I'll ever drive it again... but I'm glad I did it at least once. Road trip food highlights: a beautiful IN-N-OUT burger, a McDonald's that was serving a yummy McRib, Jack In the Box with a shake I couldn't drink through a straw, a Taco Bell where they actually ran out of beef ??? and of course John's Incredible Pizza where they had a Peanut Butter pizza that we were all to chicken to try. But the best food (outside of Vegas of course) was at the Atlantis Breakfast Buffet in Reno -- where they actually served Freedom Toast! On a final note, I finally tried Red Bull -- and I figure that it must be an aquired taste.

So I was watching Michael Moore's The Awful Truth last night (episode 2.08 I think) and they have this hillarious segment on this cop want-to-be that scored too high on an aptitude test and wasn't allowed to apply to the police department. Just for fun, here you can take a RCMP Aptitude test!
