10 Years in Vancouver
I have become quite aware recently that I've been living in Vancouver for a decade. I moved out here in January 1998 to start my Master's degree at UBC. At the UBC Alma Mater Society (AMS) meeting last night they had a mini-celebration of my ten years of involvement with that organization. Nancy and AMS Catering put together a meal with my favourite AMS foods (Sushi and Chinese food) and the archivist / researcher Sheldon (author of Remember, Remember) compiled a list of some of my more memorable contributions over the years in a powerpoint presentation. I could have done without having some of that stuff revisited, but I guess it's all a matter of public record somewhere.

2008: The Year of the Thesis (and the Rat)
I absolutely MUST finish my PhD thesis this year, and so I'm making a several New Year's resolutions along those lines. For some reason, if I post them here they'll seem more "real", so here I go:
