And I thought that November was a busy month. December has been absolutely crazy.

I still sit on the Board of Directors of the Student Society here at UBC... mostly to keep an eye on things and give advice when they're about to do something stupid, and also because I like to know what's going on around campus.

Well, on Dec 7 (Pearl Harbour Day) the Executive dropped their own bomb on the society and dismissed the General Manager for "just cause". Both the decision and the process (keeping the board in the dark, very poor liasoning with legal counsel, and the timing of the whole affair) were unacceptable and downright wrong (in my not-so-humble opinion).

After dropping almost everything else in my life, and doing nothing but preparing for the emergency meeting I called for the 17th, yada, yada, yada.... The decision to dismiss the GM was overturned, and the board requested the resignation of the President -- at the end of a 9+ hour meeting!

While we will see the aftermath of this in January... My life HAS to get back to normal, I HAVE to finish the journal paper I've been working on. So just as I'm playing catch-up with the rest of my life -- I'm heading home for the holidays.
