Welcome to my blog...It's more of an occasional-random-quirky-thought blog or a check-out-this-cool-link blog than one of those this-is-what-i-had-for-breakfast-today-and-these-are-my-feelings-about-life blogs and it's definitely not one of those awful i'm-useful-and-have-important-things-to-say-and-i'm-contributing-to-society blogs. Enjoy.

Spinning Silhouette Illusion
Which way is she spinning?I love this new optical illusion -- if you stare at her long enough, she'll start spinning in the opposite direction. I find looking away and then looking back helps. I thought it was a joke at first, and then she changed on me and it blew my mind. Keep watching.

Someone just pointed out that David Craig's 1990's UWO Gazette comic strip Horovitz has a website (albeit it's a crappy website) and there's even a facebook group. So many good memories.

AFI 100 Years -- 2008 Update
For all of you movie buffs out there, AFI updated their 100 Years... 100 Movies list. I recommend checking out the Wikipedia Entry that shows all the changes quite nicely. The changes are interesting in their own right: some are clearly political (Birth of a Nation [out], Intolerance [in]), perhaps others reflect post-911 sentimentalities (The Searchers [+84]) and there are a lot of other nuances like these. For those of you keeping score, I had 97 of the original 1998 list on DVD, but I currently only have 91 of the new list.

One Year & 100 Pounds
One Year & 100 Pounds Later (same pants)It's been exactly one year since I started focusing on losing weight and I'm now 100 pounds lighter. I know I promised a web page for this date explaining some of my methods, but it's still a work in progress: I'll re-post when it's ready.
