Instructional Support Group Wiki

Welcome to the home of TWiki.ISG. This is a web-based collaboration area primarily targeted for ISA use, which will allow better ISA-to-ISA knowledge transfer between terms.

The recommended way to search the Wiki is via Google as it returns much more meaningful results than the Twiki's builtin search. You can also begin by navigating the links below, either by topic, or via the course-specific links at the bottom which should link to other pages that are most relevant for your course.

  • ISGInfo - Information about course accounts, various scripts supported by ISG, and general stuff related to working at ISG.
    • ISGScriptsManPages - Man pages for ISG scripts, including submit. These used to be on student.cs:~isg account.
    • SetupSubmitCommand - Step-by-step instructions on setting up submit for an assignment.

  • RST/BitterSuite - Automated testing scripts used by MarkUs.
    • RST - Information on using RST for auto-testing student submissions. MarkUs uses RST, but RST can be used without MarkUs.
    • BitterSuite - A collection of scripts to help with common automated testing situations.
      • BitterSuite is designed to be run from RST. RST can be run without using BitterSuite.
      • BitterSuite is what processes the in/ folder of your test suite.

    • SshfsWindows - Connecting to course account on Windows using SSHFS, an alternative to Samba. SSHFS is harder to set up, but can be faster and more reliable than Samba.

  • Marmoset - Information about Marmoset, a web-based submission and testing server being used in several courses.

  • MossBasics - Basic information on running Moss to check for plagarism

  • TACoordination - Regarding working with the graduate TAs for your course.

  • Clickers - Everything to do with managing clickers.
    • ClickerDebuggingTips - Tips/Steps on how to investigate clicker problems (ex. students saying they're not getting clicker marks)

  • ExaminationDuties - Job requirements and procedures related to examination organization, proctoring, and marking.

  • CourseWebsite - Information regarding managing the course website.

  • GroupMgr - Information on some useful scripts to simplify group creation.
