How to access the Visibull Interface
Visibull.tv is a web-based digital signage service under beta test by the School of Computer Science. It will allow any computer running Chrome in full-screen mode to display programmed elements in regions of the screen, including slide shows, video, RSS or twitter feeds, or other HTML content. Computer Science is currently using one kiosk with visibull in the window of the main CS office.
How to setup kiosk
Point Chrome (must be Google Chrome) to the CSCF Visibull Kiosk URL (
http://cscf.uw-math.visibull.tv/) ensuring that the browser is in kiosk mode (or simply use fullscreen mode).
Who to contact if issues?
Justin Visser (
jhvisser@uwaterloo.ca) is the current editor. Daniel Allen and Lawrence Folland are also responsible for the project. If there are issues that CSCF can't resolve, our contact at Visibull is Collin
McIntyre (
collin.mcintyre@uwaterloo.ca).
Changing the RSS Feeds
Under "Widgets" locate the "Social" category. In the social category you want to find the widget that has a type of "RSS feed". Find the RSS feed widget matching the one you want to edit. On the widget editor simply change the settings to your liking including the URL if needed. URL simply needs to be pointed to an RSS feed (.xml).
Editing the slide show presentation
The slide show presentation is stored in Google Drive- under user "
uwaterloocskiosk@gmail.com". See the following page for a how-to on editing a google drive presentation:
