SCG printing for Windows and Linux Users

• What is impacted? ljp_maple and ljp_maple1 printer in maple lab
  

• Note: SCG users do not need to be added to an accounts@cs print quota file. Just add the printer as per instructions below

Migration Notes

• SCG.MATH is no longer the print server for ljp_maple - the service has been moved to print.cs

New Print Server and Queue

• LPR and CUPS Server: print.cs.uwaterloo.ca
• Queue: ljp_maple
• Driver: use HP LaserJet Series 4100 PS

Windows Users

• Change your print server to print.cs.uwaterloo.ca

Linux Users

UbuntuDapper Release

• If you have a Linux installation setup by CSCF, you should be able to do the following:
  • lpstat -p
  • look for ljp_maple@...
  • if you see that then use: lpadmin -d ljp_maple@...
• if it doesn't, try the following:
  • check CSCF notes for Ubuntu Printing setup

• See CUPS section under section CupsOnLinux#Ubuntu_and_Cups_Dapper_Release
  • ljp_maple is now exported from print.cs so once you follow these notes it will be installed
