This web app can be used to reset passwords for CS-GENERAL (not STUDENT). Keep in mind that you need to use a browser that is not logged into CAS, such as by using a different browser, or using a "private session". Follow these steps in order to reset a password:

  1. Go to the app (https://cs.uwaterloo.ca/cscf/internal/password/) in a new private browser window.
  2. Ask the person who wants their password reset to enter their WatIAm username and password
  3. Click Change password
  4. In the authorized user section enter Username cscfhelp and CS-GENERAL password
  5. Ask the client to enter a new password that follows the guidelines and then retype it in the other field
  6. Click save
  7. Have client try logging into original machine after ten minutes.

If there is a problem with the app contact Daniel Allen (drallen@uwaterloo.ca)

The new password will take effect within ten to fifteen minutes.

If the client needs to change their student password, there is a student password app available for them to set it themselves, via their WatIAm password.
