Supported Operating Systems for the Eon 4000 and E100 Terminals

The following are the currently in service operating systems for CSCF's Eon 4000 and E100 terminals. The OS's for the Eon 4000 terminals have additional graphics drivers to support the terminal's additional video cards. Therefore these OS's are considered non-standard NeoLinux, hence the "for Waterloo" addendum.

  • NeoLinux 2.2-121901 (for Waterloo)
  • NeoLinux 2.4-100802 (for Waterloo)
  • NeoLinux 3.0-041204 (for Waterloo)
• Neoware E100 Terminals (aquired from 5D)
  • NeoLinux 3.0.1-072704

We are in the process of updating the OS of all Eon 4000 terminals to NeoLinux 3.0-041204.

Eon 4000 and E100 terminals are essentially stripped down Linux boxes with sufficient features to function as a simple terminal. The operating system is called Neoware Linux or NeoLinux and is a compact version of standard Linux. Terminals posses:

• Telnet Client
• ICA Client
• RDP Client (rdesktop)
• X Windows Server (X11R5 or X11R6 in later versions)
• Netscape 4.7 Web Browser
• Telnet Server (for remote administration, see RemEons)
• VNC Server (for remote administration)
• Connection Manager Software (Grahical interface for connecting to remote hosts)
