Network

IMAP connections

  • NOTE Turn off global INDEXING before you do anything else!!!!!
    • Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> Advanced Configuration -> uncheck "Enable Global Search and Indexer"

Speeding up IMAP

  • Open Preferences -> Advanced -> General Tab -> Config Editor
    • In the Filter section type max_cached_connections
      • enter 1 for all entries that are highlighted
  • Turn off automatic offline SYNC for the new account profile BEFORE migrating email - each profile has it's own settings
  • Turn off global indexer BEFORE migrating email - best leave it off forever

Working with Connect

  • Open Preferences -> Advanced -> General -> Configure Editor
    • In the search box type: mail.server.default.fetch.by.chunks
      • set to false
      • This will fix a problem where large files (eg: pdfs) are not fully-downloaded and appear corrupted
    • In the search box type: mail.server
      • increase timeouts to 100
