NetTop notes

Overview and Background

In 2011, we began to use the NetTop as a "fatter" thin client. This was primarily driven by the desire to speed up browser usage which, on ThinClients was quite slow because they all ran on the remote server. With a NetTop, the browser (and other software) run locally on the machine, reducing the memory and processor load on the remote server.
