This was almost a workshop-style tutorial, with lots of participation from the attendees. It's worth going to once; probably not worth attending twice. Robyn gave a little talk in 2004 based on Bruce Lennox's notes from his attendance at LISA 2003, which I attended, but I wanted to see what it was like "from the horse's mouth". Robyn's was pretty bang-on.

Tom likes to do an every other day walkaround - this increases face-time. As well, he's a huge fan of regular meetings.

Big projects - schedule an hour right away just to give yourself the time to find possible roadblocks.

What about indeterminate times?

  • try to automate as much as possible.
  • guesstimate! You can refine as time goes on.

Some scrawls I noted:

Family planning sessions: you need to schedule personal time too! Where does the family want to be?
