Scripting for Eon Thin Clients: The Work Horse of Eon Terminal Management

The EZ Remote Manager for Eon 4000 and E100 terminals does have built in functions for managing terminal menus and configurations. They operate through copying configurations from one protype terminal and uploading those configurations to a set of target terminals. This method, aside from being hard to manage, imposed an automatic reboot on any updated terminal. This greatly restricted the ability of CSCF to manage thin clients without interfering with users. Scripting supplied a flexible solution to this problem.

We moved to using scripting to manage CSCF Eon terminal menus and configurations because scripting affords greater flexibility with respect to changing terminal and menu characteristics. Scripting can also
