Thanks to Tim Lamb for creating such a great device, for being open and transparent about its design and use, and for consistently engaging with its user community. Thanks to that community, on the Dirtywave Discord and a smaller group on Elektronauts, for being friendly and helpful, with many quick responses to questions, useful tips, short videos of techniques, and longer video or audio of songs. We’d especially like to thank those who gave us feedback on early drafts of this document.
We learned a lot from longer tutorials or walkthroughs by Red Means Recording (Jeremy Blake), EZBOT (Matthew Piecora), and mikey303 (Mike ?). The Discord meetups and overviews of major firmware updates (videos available on Dirtywave’s YouTube channel) were a rich source of information.
Dave Mech’s course for the Elektron Digitone I provided many practical examples and tips for sound design and composition that could be translated to the M8 context.
