Renewing the Faculty License Agreement

Visit the site http://vmapss.onthehub.com/ and subscribe to a one, two or three year license. Use a credit card. The Webstore access begins three to five business days after renewal. Licenses may then be obtained, but expire one year after the first of the month the license was obtained.
If you have problems logging into this web page follow the link below:

VMAP 1-Year Subscription (Departmental)
Available to: Faculty/Staff
$260.05

A yearly site wide subscription is also available and is currently under consideration by the University as of the start of 2013.

Pricing is as follows:
1 year campus subscription - $1250
2 year campus subscription - $2250
3 year campus subscription - $3250

Accessing the WebStore

  1. Visit http://www.onthehub.com/
  2. Click the link "Search for your school"
  3. Select "Institution Site" from the drop down list.
  4. Then "Country, Province, and Brand: VMware"
  5. Then select "University of Waterloo - Math Faculty" from the lengthy list of schools.
  6. Sign in with the userid and password found in the safe in DC2560g under "VMware License".
Once logged into the site there are two tabs labelled Student and Faculty. Either will list the available VMware products for download. Note the download will be a key and can only be downloaded once for each product.
Also available is the "Lab Installs" version of the VMware product.

Getting a Key

Once logged into the onthehub web site's WebStore click on the "Your Account/Orders" link (under the "Hello, gboerke@uwaterloo.ca") to list the download, date, and license key of each product in the detailed list.
The data shows "24 months of access to your download and/or key". This is not correct. The key will only last for 12 months from the first of the month downloaded.

To update a Key

Once logged into the onthehub web site's WebStore click on the product desired and download the new key. Do this once a key has expired. It will only allow one download of a new key. The key can then be viewed any time just follow the above step "Getting a Key".
