Sony Battery Recall 2006

Given the number of recall announcements on Sony batteries, CSCF decided to send out the following announcement:

"As most of you will have heard, there have been a number of recalls from a variety of laptop/notebook manufacturers in regards to problems with Sony-manufactured batteries. Note that the battery will not necessarily be labelled with the name "Sony". Given the numerous reports of machines catching fire, we recommend that you check to see whether any laptop(s) you own are affected by the recalls."

"The following is a list of the recalls, the models affected and a link for more information. In most cases, there is an online diagnostic tool that will tell you if your machine is affected. You should also check any extra battery packs you may have purchased for your machine. If you would like assistance, please speak to your point-of-contact.
