Components

Projector

The projector is located in the booth at the back of the room.

  • For a presentation setup, it seems to work best when the projector is turned on prior to connecting a computer.

Video Box

The video switch box is located in the cabinet at the front of the room, it is in the right side of the cabinet.

  • Make sure the switch is in the middle (neutral) position. This enables the projector to more effectively detect the computer being attached.
    • The video switch should be in the middle position. The only times it is not, is when someone fiddles around with the equipment.

Computer Audio

There is a "headphone" jack connector, usually located in the left side of the cabinet at the front of the room. Insert this connector into the computer's headphone jack. Be sure to test the volume output prior to any presentation. Volume adjustment may have to be done on the audio box or on the computer itself, or possibly both. The audio box is in the left side of the cabinet at the front of the room.

Connecting a Mac

Experience, so far, shows that the "fool-proof" way of connecting a Mac is:

  1. Turn on the projector.
  2. Connect the VGA cable to the Mac dongle.
  3. Have the Mac user be logged into their computer.
  4. Connect the Mac dongle to the Mac's Thunderbolt (MiniDisplay) Port.
Once this is done, the projector usually figures things out properly and one will see the picture on the screen.
