The existing package is set up to allow customization of files in a simple but XHier-compatible manner. Essentially, the package simply consists of the distribution zip, unzipped, but there are override directories corresponding to the XHier share types. On each machine, the XHier Install script creates a "local"-type instance of the files, based on combining the share type directories in the order share, arch, admin, regional, local.

On www.cs and www.student.cs all the PhpMyAdmin files in the distribution are inherited from the "share" copy. The only customization is the addition of a regional config.inc.php which configures the installation to connect only to database.cs or database.student.cs as appropriate.
