OFIS Notes from 17 February, 2010

Past Tasks

  • Daniel: worked on ssh data transferring, still in dev. Will generate "real" profiles, but I want preview to work as well.
  • CS School Council: Gave 5-minute "ad" for upcoming demo sometime this term.
    • Questions:
      1. at least three "keep your CV online" services: Community of Scholars, [tri-council granting] my common cv (used by cihr) ...where does it end? Do you have to put them in all three?...
      2. Are these going to be compulsory? Answer: No; but the hope is they'll be useful enough.
      3. Can it generate sub-web-pages for things like grad-student lists?... to be discussed.

Today:

  • beth: test professor & getting contributions in are her priorities.
    • Lei [co-op] working on test professor & test data. (l29wu) found discrepancies on form. and data doesn't get passed into db.
    • beth: perhaps can we switch ALL publications to single-entry? some discussion of that, which would mean ditching bibtex;
      • 11,000 to 946 entries as fields vs. single-entry (but how many are after dec 1 2009 of the year? 246 as fields).
    • Lei has calendar widget.

Upcoming Tasks:

  • Daniel: research-book work, demos
    • tell profs: changes will be erased.
    • look up email to the list: bibtex-using prof, wants to test.
    • "2234 manuscript pages" - where does that come from? End-page isn't supposed to be a range, is it?
    • logic for page-ranges: holes around "" or 0 for source, n for end
    • Awards: "Show on Web" for everyone; will need poking at how that select will work.
  • Marlon: Vic DiCiccio ?
