OFIS Notes from 16 December, 2010
Today
Daniel: cleaned up Research Keywords. Will move backup of old version to subdir. Won't get to asking profs about display on web until new year.
Marlon: Office of Research: 2010-2011 data has grants assigned to research groups; so some data doesn't have faculty members. They do have investigator_ids, so we can try and map from that to person_id? will require reloading all data. Do we need this data, since they don't have a faculty member as primary? yes, because sometimes they show up as co-investigators.
Data doesn't have named investigator b/c: old grants; and grants sent to group and divvied up.
In the future could it show up in OFIS if we id who the director was at a particular time?... There are grants that were applied for by director; grad students in Eng. supervised by 'director'. Possibly business rules to be learned; probably should ignore 'director' and pay attention to co-investigators.
Future Tasks
- Daniel:
- ask faculty members: display on web?
- process for improving CS teaching roster data to include faculty userid?
- ask about: published book has (accepted) date?
