Daniel: Research Book work: investigating webpage, prof comments. data cleanup.
Today
Marlon and Ray away. Next week: meeting Wednesday. Upcoming: project manager will be new Dean for Computing, when s/he is named (for two weeks from now?)
Beth: merit report relies on office of research freeform text- hopefully new ORA system has lookup tables instead? Beth will ask Brenda.
Suggestion to Vu: Merit Report automatically switch date on Dec. 1, instead of manually.
Beth did beta of progress-through-ranks system, demoing for Deans; consists of: webforms for ft appts -> sharepoint 2010 -> tables that can be exported to HR and OFIS ; would like to know if CS/Math could use this system.
Will demo next week; Daniel will report back to CS.
Vu: would like an ERD of current OFIS DB structures. Plan to build one for next term?
Daniel:
Will keep Beth informed about his and Marlon's progress on OFIS talk for WatITis.
Awards: two people selected "Early Researcher Award (current version of PREAS)" - propose just "Early..." not "current..." ?
Beth: sounds good; and we could add a separate line for "Premier's Research Excellence Award"?
Employment History: looks OK; in production, any edits will add '0000-00-00' to a blank ending-date; but only on the edit page- the display page says " - present", which is OK.
dev version: Vu will be doing away with calendar popup, doesn't work in firefox. dev db uses yyyy-mm-dd format. (we should prompt them for the format).
Daniel: couldn't get the excel .txt import to work: we think it's a mac Excel difference with Windows; Vu looking into it.
Daniel: access to Errors reports: what happens to them? Currently, entirely manual looking at table by Marlon and passing items on to relevant IST contacts. Hm. Daniel will keep an eye out for CS prof updates to the table.
Future Tasks
Daniel: reporting to CS on Beth's Progress through the Ranks system, after we've seen it. Further shepherding of CS Research Book data-input. Work on WatITIs talk. Discuss with Marlon: data for Awards: "ERA" separate from "PREA"
Marlon: webpage data lossage: yes, ofis_import.uwdir for ~35 out of 80 were blank. Marlon will be looking to see if watiam feed was bad.
