OFIS Notes from 03 May, 2011

No meeting last week.

Today

Oops; last term's co-op didn't email out a writeup of the mysql workbench.

Marlon: weren't we going to base our revision-control on live not dev, because dev includes lots of code not going into dev?

Daniel: Hm. in that case, I will look at hg history; whether we can back out and base on the live check in, make the dev2 changes there (hg merge?), and call that the dev version?... Other option is rebuilding the hg from live, copying over Vu's dev2 changes.

Vu is on family leave; will be back in two weeks, possibly. Daniel definitely won't take over all of the dev Vu said he'd do before he got back. But he'll take a look.

• Jack (new old co-op) will look at some of this (fixing php5 errors). Daniel will send him info about repositories before he can get started.

Marlon:

• faculty-reported errors seem well in hand for last term.
• working on IAP automating via cron.
• a few weeks from now, Brenda MacDonald will be in touch about their new database.

What major work for this term? Marlon's preference:

• Faculty_member -> person, f-m and f-m life-totals - moving code to support this. still keyed on Faculty_member.person_id
  • discussion of that schema change; probably this is a go.
• will bring up other major suggestions for this term, next week.
