Kiosk Operation
Setting up a server with student access, with various options you don't want the students mucking with (or maybe just sensible defaults).
- install package 'kiosktool' to save configurations for all users.
- Suggestions:
- ) 'disable all tasks and applications that require root' in 'general options'
- ) x animate buttons in 'window decorations' in 'theming'
- ) x 'enable gui effects' in 'effects' in 'style' in 'theming'
- ) lock down proxy settings in 'setup network proxy'
- ) screen saver: lock down, disable opengl-based, setup screen saver to blank.
