• Add contrib and non-free to sources.list, remove a couple of obsolete packages (libgdkcardimage0 and phpdoc).
• Change source from debian30.uwaterloo to mirror.debian.math.
• dist-upgrade.
• Hrm, looks like the kernel is built with gcc 3.3.5, whilst the only 3.3 version available is 3.3.4. Bad Debian kernel builders. Anyway, rebuild vmware modules since they didn't load.
• Edit /etc/ntp.conf to point at ca.pool.ntp.org too, and set student.cs as the preferred.

• actually bump /etc/cscf-deb-version (I forgot to for .8)
• might as well dist-upgrade while I'm here
• fix /boot/grub/menu.lst to make it a 10 second timeout instead of 5 - we've found 5 is too short

• add local java repository to sources.list
• dist-upgrade; new gdm.conf so install it and then fix it again
• install jdk 1.4.2 and some recommended packages: mozilla-browser (!), myspell-en-us, myspell-en-gb, mozilla-psm

• many upgrades (incl. KDE 3.3).
• install some language packs for firefox: de, fr-fr, ja, ko, ru-ru, zh-cn, zh-tw, and same for mozilla and thunderbird (where they existed)
• re-add KDE to install list (why did it disappear?) - kde, kde-extras, kde-devel, kde-devel-extras, and some il8n packages: de, fr, ja, ru, zhcn, zhtw, kdevelop
• edited /etc/skel/bash_profile to fix "The default .bash_profile should have uncommented the part that will add ~/bin to the PATH if it exists (and the MANPATH) (LawrenceFolland)"
• add a few more packages: mozilla-thunderbird-enigmail (now we can document how to do PGP stuff), mozilla-bonobo (monkeys are good), mozplugger. I'd been hoping for a flash plugin, but I bet that won't ever happen. Perhaps we should mirror that like we do with Java.

• Let's release this one. dist-upgrade as of this morning, only a few packages changed.

• I never did get the February image built. dist-upgrade and 300 packages updated. Build this one.
• change mirror to mirror.cscf.
• the image has been complaining about the shared partition for some time, something about MBR not matching, so boot Windows to re-create that partition.

• dist-upgrade, but no new image generated.

May-June-July 2005 0.9.0

• this was an internal test image, first whack at an Ubuntu-based.

13 July 2005 0.9.1

• first cut at a release Ubuntu-based image. Built on 5.04 "Hoary Hedgehog".
