About Departing CSCF Employees
When someone moves on, we need to remove references
to them from various documentation,
and access to various systems.
Most of what needs to be done can be derived from the
New Employee Guide,
however there are things that may happen sometime after
someone has started work.
The following list is most likely incomplete,
being updated mostly when someone leaves.
Access
We describe
changes to access
elsewhere, as some parts of it might not be appropriate
for public consumption.
Documentation, Contacts
System Files and Configuration
- File ownerships — often can be changed to root
- Accounts sponsorships (/software/accounts-master/data/sponsors/)
- personal accounts
- group memberships
- crontab entries
- sponsorship of other accounts
Hardware
- laptop - wipe and reinstall
- desktop - wipe and reinstall
- beat boxes - itemize and re-allocate
- off-campus equipment - account for / return
- cell phone - recover
Other
- office contents - e.g. paper files, especially confidential information
- cell phone - stop paying for a personal cell phone used for work
- unlogged revisions - all RCS etc. changes left checked out should be checked in, i.e. with an appropriate description
- keys and any fobs
