Software/Applications Installation

This documents (extra) information about the installation of specific applications. When the page gets too big, we'll make per-application pages.

Firefox - the ESR release

Firefox has an ESR (Extended Support Release). We're using that for workstations that have to use the central finance system. See Stephen (snickers) for details. Current Firefox ESR information.

InDesign - Windows

When installing, make sure that you choose the same "Adobe ID", needed to download the software, as will be used when it's being run. See Stephen (snickers) and/or ST #90479 for details.

WingIDE - MacOSX

We found that WingIDE also needs X11 installed. It seemed to need a specific version; QuartzX11 from sourceforge. And, the "Enable key equivalents under X11" input preference in QuartzX11 has to be disabled for WingIDE to work. See Ed (echrzano) and/or ST #90580 for details.
