---+ Student CS Region !MySQL Installation

This !MySQL installation cannot currently be reached via CF.PhpMyAdmin at https://www.student.cs.uwaterloo.ca/phpMyAdmin/.

---++ Host

This !MySQL service is hosted on mysql.student.cs.uwaterloo.ca.
Since Jan. 2012, that is an alias for linux024.student.cs.
It will be moving to a new ubuntu-12.04 or 14.04 server soon.
Before 2012, the service ran under Solaris on database.student.cs.

---++ Database

This installation of !MySQL is generally not for production databases.  It contains only =user_= databases (See CFPrivate.CoreCSRegionMySQL for details).

Starting in the Winter 2014 term, it is used by the CS 338 web DB front-end at https://www.student.cs.uwaterloo.ca/~cs338/webdb/ .
For that, it contains copies of the public Chinook and TPC-H databases.

It was used for student databases by CS 338 in the Winter 2012 term.
It remains available for the CS 348 database course, but is not currently used by it.
Any student may request an account on this database for personal use.
