---+ Configuration for Mac use of FORE %TOC% The following browser/plugin configurations have worked to allow PDF "drill downs". [[http://www.math.uwaterloo.ca/~daroloso][Dani Roloson]], of MFCF, created a [[http://www.math.uwaterloo.ca/~daroloso/Drill/][Drill Down Test Page]]. ---++ Safari with !AdobePDFViewer.plugin or PDF Browser Plugin 2.4.2 Safari Plug-in Locations * /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/ -- for system-wide plugins * ~/Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/ -- user-defined plugins ---+++ Safari with !AdobePDFViewer.plugin The !AdobePDFViewer.plugin is automatically installed in /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/ when the "Adobe Reader".app is installed. Therefore, if one does not see !AdobePDFViewer.plugin listed in /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/, then one must install [[http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/]["Adobe Reader".app]]. Adobe provides documentation for unblocking Acrobat plugin for [[http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/blocked-plugin-alert-safari-7.html][Safari 7 and 6.1 block PDFs | Acrobat, Reader]]. I tried this with Safari 8 and the procedure still works. *Safari 8* if Safari was updated to version 8 from a lower version number, one must remove the !AdobePDFViewer.plugin from /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/ and reinstall Acrobat Reader. *Before opening a PDF in Safari*, Launch the "Adobe Reader.app" and agree to the license. If this is not done first, Safari will show an Acrobat error, "Before viewing PDF documents in this browser you must launch Adobe Reader and accept the End User License Agreement, then Quit and relaunch the browser." For more details, look at Adobe's documentation [[http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdfs-safari-acrobat-8-mac.html][PDFs in Safari | Acrobat 8 | Mac OS X]] ---+++ Safari with PDF Browser Plugin 2.4.2 This method still works with Safari 8. Download [[http://www.schubert-it.com/downloads/pdf-plugin-242.dmg][PDF Browser Plugin 2.4.2]] from [[http://www.schubert-it.com][schubert-it.com]] and installed DMG package. This places "PDF Browser Plugin.plugin" into the /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/ directory. ---++ Firefox 17 ESR with PDF Browser Plugin 2.4.2 %INCLUDE{ [[MacFirefoxPDFPluginAdministratorDocumentation]] }% -- Main.StephenNickerson - 2014-08-22
