Rough procedure for mastering an image to be used on the gradpc's.
- Ensure system is up to date (apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade) and that all applications we care about behave as expected. In particular, make sure the VMWare kernel modules load properly at boot - they must be rebuilt every kernel change, even minor revisions.
- Clean out /var/log - old syslogs, etc.
- Clean everything out of /cscf-adm except for the .ssh directory.
- Ensure /home is empty except for the lost+found directory.
- Run an fsck on all filesystems.
