Enabling System Password Security |
If a remote system in the client network has an integrated chassis intrusion alarm, IT Assistant alerts system administrators when the system’s cover has been removed.
When an alert is detected for a system, IT Assistant updates the system status indicator displayed in the systems window.
To clear a chassis intrusion alert, perform the following steps:

NOTE: Only client systems support this feature. Password security on server systems is enabled by default. |
System password security is enabled when you set up or modify user information for the local or a remote system. Password security is implemented entirely by Dell™ instrumentation and is not based on operating system security or network security.

IT Assistant services security provides a password feature for using IT Assistant itself; it is separate from the system password settings you specify when configuring users. When you start IT Assistant, you are prompted with the Logon Information dialog box, which enables you to specify the user rights under which you will use IT Assistant. The user rights are:

When using IT Assistant, the current user access rights display in the lower right corner of the screen, next to the printer icon.
