CS486/686 Winter 2026 - Introduction to Artificial Intelligence

There will be one midterm test of 80 minutes duration worth 30% of the final mark (20% for CS686). The midterm is scheduled on Thursday February 12, 7:30 pm - 8:50 pm.

There will also be a final exam of 2.5 hours worth 50% of the final mark (35% for CS686). The final exam will be scheduled by the registrar.

• Bring a non-programmable calculator. No other aids allowed (i.e., no notes, no lecture slides, no textbook, no computer, no smartphone, no smartwatch, etc.)
• No programming questions
• Questions will focus on concepts

• Practice questions: In Chrysalis, a module called "midterm practice" has been made available. It contains 28 questions covering the material subject to examination. There is no mark associated with this midterm practice. This is entirely optional. You can also download the multiple choice questions associated with each chat assignment. A button allows you to download the multiple choice questions without the answers so that you can use them for practice.
