- [Agree] Good videos for the weeks that used videos to give lecture content.
Note: This is a complete list of comments I received, listed alphabetically to avoid bias.
The most important thing I learned in this course was: |
- basic skills about the how to use the basic computer skills
- coding and excel
- CS is everywhere and is important. I learned the pieces of a computer!
- Excel fundamentals
- Helpful tips for Excel, HTML quizzes, and understanding how the internet works.
- HTML coding
- I learned more about the computers, the internet and how websites work a little better.
- I learned the basics of excel, HTML and web pages and how to work with each with different methods used in the course.
- I learned the fundamentals of computer science, which I think is essential as we are living in a generation with technology that is continuously developing.
- introduction to cs
- Nothing
- The most important part of CS100 for me was learning about Excel and gaining insights into how computer systems work behind the scenes. Understanding the differences between primary and secondary memory, and learning about how the internet and webpages communicate with each other and are created, were invaluable aspects of the course.
- The most important thing I learned in this course is how to balance the assignment over the week and how to reach out to help for support if I need it.
- Using Excel, HTML
What helped me to learn in this course was: |
- Assignments
- His content videos/text and the accessibility to the ISAs
- I thoroughly enjoyed the engaging videos that were provided as our lessons. The way the Dave used real life example and memes helped me understand concepts a lot better. I also really enjoyed the coding assignments like making the website using HTML. This helped me apply the concepts we just learned in the lessons. Finally, the support of the TAs were the biggest help. I really appreciated their one on one support. I feel like all of the staff in this course wanted to see us be successful in this course.
- modules and videos
- Nothing
- The Instructional Support Assistants (ISAs) were a great help throughout the CS100 course. They were always available to answer any questions and provide clarifications whenever I needed them. Additionally, the recorded videos were a fantastic addition to the course, especially for learning complex topics like Excel and computer system functionalities.
- the main assignments
- The modules and the readings for each module.
- The modules/videos and assignments helped me learn the content in this course.
- the videos posted in the modules
- -the videos were very engaging and helpful in learning the content, especially as someone with no prior experience in CS
- The YouTube videos provided, the professor was very engaging in the videos and stimulated my interest.
- Watching/reading material when it comes out and then review right before the assignment. Also trial and error.
What changes, if any, would I suggest for this course? |
- Can explain more for the assignments on how to do, especially with videos for how to do the big one, like how to access to the docs.
- Having an in-person exam for a module course. Also, have an in-person course instead of a module.
- I think this course is fair the way it is.
- if the lecture is a video also include a reading.
- n/a
- None
- None
- Nothing!
- One change I'd recommend for CS100 would be to incorporate videos on how to create webpages, as well as how to work with CSS files and JavaScript. While the reading materials provided some understanding, I believe that visually demonstrating these processes, similar to the Excel videos, would help students grasp the concepts more effectively and enhance their learning experience.
- There aren't any changes I would suggest for this course. I think that this course I well structured and I really liked the content that was taught. In general, I really liked this course!
