CS480/680 Spring 2019 - Introduction to Machine Learning

There will be one midterm test of 75 minutes duration worth 20% of the final mark (15% for CS680). The midterm is scheduled on Friday June 21, 8:30 pm - 9:50 pm.

There will also be a final exam of 2.5 hours worth 40% of the final mark (30% for CS680). The final exam is scheduled on Wednesday August 14, 12:30 pm - 3pm in PAC 1, 2, 3.

Midterm

  • STC0010: Students whose last name starts with A-G
  • STC1012: Students whose last name starts with H-Z
• Duration: 75 minutes
• Material subject to examination
  • Content of lectures 1-5, 7-11
  • Assignments 1, 2
• Open book exam (i.e., you can bring your notes, the lecture slides, some textbooks, a non-programmable calculator, but no computer, no tablet, no smart phone, no smart watch)
• No programming questions
• Questions will focus on concepts
• To practice,
  • try the exercises at the end of each chapter in the textbooks recommended for the course (some of the solutions are online)
• Pascal will hold special office hours on Friday June 21, 10:30-11:50 am in DC2306C.

Final

• Date: Wednesday, August 14, 12:30-3pm (PAC 1,2,3)
• Duration: 2.5 hrs

  • Content of all lectures (except Lecture 6)
  • Assignments 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
