The goal of this assignment component is three-fold:
- to familiarize you with skills on presenting a topic systematically
- to give you and your classmates an overview of many related research works organized around one theme in software security, and
- to give you a jump-start on the research project assignment.
Details
We aim to have one teaching presentation (1 hour each) every week during our scheduled lecture hours. During the first week of class, we will collect everyone’s topic preference and assign the presentation slots accordingly. Each student will be assigned one slot.
The presentation is organized in free form. You can choose to present slides from textbooks, tutorials, workshops, or even SoK papers. Or if you prefer, you can teach the topic without any slides. Whiteboard-style teaching is very much encouraged!
Grading
Grading of a paper presentation will be based on peer feedback. After each presentation, all attendees will evaluate the presentation on a scale of 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent) in HotCRP and the grade for this assignment component is simply the average score of the received evaluations.
